The USB cable specification maximum length is 5m (or roughly 16ft.) With Ethernet, the clients can be 100m or more (when using switches) from the host PC. A USB connection may be desirable for its simplicity of setup and for locations where Ethernet networking is not possible.

Do I need to externally power my Zero Clients?In most cases, you will need to provide external power to your Zero Clients. If using Ethernet-connect t200s, you must use external power. If daisy-chaining USB-connected Zero Clients, you must use external power. For USB-connected Zero Clients, external power is optional, but, without external power the client can only support the keyboard, mouse, and one low-powered USB device that is rated to use 100mA or less. This includes some USB flash drives, but most current devices require more than 100mA.

What options do I have for networking when using Ethernet-connected t200 Zero Clients?The host PC and the t200 Zero Clients must be assigned IP addresses for the solution to function.
