I have a Porcher 2 piece toilet (I don't remember the model name). I bought it in 2001 when it was on sale for like $300.00. It has a concealed trapway I think the model name was 'Colonial' but I am not sure.
Recently I started to hear a drip drip drip noise. I looked and it was hard to pin down the source of the noise and I suspect it is either the valve flapper thingie allowing the water to seep into the bowl. I used a tooth brush to brush off the slimy stuff on the value and the ring but it did not help, then I pressed down on the valve and the drip stopped. So I think the valve itself 'deformed' or something.
I went to HD and saw few of those valve. All of them are designed for Kohler and American Standards. I bought a few and tried them none fit. So I need replacement parts.
I looked at the inside of the tank and it says Made In Mexico. On the left side is a number 6529 and on the right side 4046.
I looked at Porcher's web site and do not see the model I have anymore, but I did find this link:

The model is not the same but the assembly inside the tank is very similar.
So my question is what part do I need? Do I just get a new flapper or is it better to get an entire assembly?
Where can I order parts? Any online source?

I thought Porcher was an American Standard. Anyways, it sounds as if you only need a new flapper. They are usually interchangable among different brands , and by the link you posted, yours is no exception. You may need to trip the small round portion of the flapper off before it will work properly, but at least one of the ones you bought should work.

I bought all six variations at HD some for American Standards some for Kohler none worked. The problem is the hinge at the back is not the right size to fot the tube.
Porcher was a European toilet maker, it was acquired by American Standards a few years back. When I bought this toilet Porcher was still Porcher and not part of American Standards.

Are there ears on the tube? If so you can cut the hinge off and connect to the ears. If not you could probably replace the flush valve with a more common variety that takes standard flappers.
